What is UNITIC?
UNITIC is a campus event ticketing platform for Nigerian student organizers. You can create an event, sell tickets online with guest checkout, check guests in with scan-once QR at the gate, and withdraw ticket money to a Nigerian bank account.
Is UNITIC the same as UniTix?
No. UNITIC (unitic.name.ng) is not UniTix (unitix.ng). UNITIC is built for the organizer’s box office and payouts. It is not a general campus event discovery app.
What do buyers pay?
Buyers pay exactly the ticket price displayed at checkout. There is no extra buyer surcharge added on top of the price. Payment is processed through Flutterwave (card, USSD, bank transfer).
What do organizers pay?
Organizers pay a 5% UNITIC platform fee plus the payment gateway fee (~2% via Flutterwave, capped at ₦2,000). These fees are deducted from the organizer’s pool, not added to the buyer’s price.
Example: on a ₦2,000 ticket, the organizer receives approximately ₦1,860 after both fees.
Do buyers need an account to buy tickets?
No. UNITIC supports guest checkout. Buyers provide their name and email at checkout and pay with Flutterwave. No UNITIC account is required.
How does QR check-in work?
Every ticket gets a unique QR code. At the gate, the organizer scans the QR. Each code is unique and can only be scanned once — so screenshots, forwarded images, and copies can be rejected.
How do organizers get paid?
Organizers can withdraw ticket money to a Nigerian bank account. The minimum withdrawal amount is ₦1,000. Payouts follow a T+1 schedule after approval.
Can I use UNITIC for SUG week events or department dinners?
Yes. UNITIC is commonly used for SUG week programmes, department dinners, comedy shows, concerts, watch parties, and other paid campus events in Nigeria.
Does UNITIC have a WhatsApp bot?
Not currently. UNITIC is a web box office (create event, online checkout, QR check-in, bank payouts). A WhatsApp bot may come later on the roadmap, but it is not available today.
Why not just sell tickets on WhatsApp?
WhatsApp doesn’t give you proper ticketing. UNITIC provides a buyer-facing checkout page, a unique QR ticket per guest, scan-once gate entry, and bank payouts — without reconciling WhatsApp alerts, payment screenshots, or paper lists.
